This session explores how ethical and legal frameworks such as the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and GDPR contribute to trust, privacy, and fairness in the use of health data and artificial intelligence (AI).

Your health data is powerful, but only if it’s used safely, transparently, and ethically. The European Health Data Space (EHDS), together with the GDPR, is designed to make sure your data is protected and used only for the right reasons, whether that’s improving care, advancing research, or shaping better health systems.

These laws give you control: you have the right to know who is using your data, for what purpose, and to say no when you choose. At the same time, they make sure that any organization accessing health data is held to the highest standards of responsibility and security.
